QR code is short for 'quick response' code, and is a two-dimensional code that can encrypt thousands of characters. It could, for example, store product information or link to a destination URL.
The first QR code system was developed in 1994 by Denso Wave, a Toyota subsidiary in Japan. During the manufacturing process, they needed a more precise way to track cars and parts. They accomplished this by creating a barcode that could encode kanji, kana, and alphanumeric characters.
QR codes have patterns that represent binary codes that can be decoded to reveal data. The three large squares outside the QR code let a QR reader identify it as a standard QR code.
The QR code is then broken down into a grid and analyzed by the QR reader. It examines each grid square individually and assigns a value to each one based on whether it is black or white. The grid squares are then combined to form larger patterns.
You can use them to collect feedback on your products or services, increase client engagement through images or videos, and even advertise your brand through events and coupons. All of this can be accomplished with just one scan!
You may already have a built-in QR Code reader or scanner on your device. Open your mobile phone's camera app and hold it over a Code for a few seconds until a notice appears. Check your options to see if QR Code scanning is enabled if this doesn't work.
